End of Year Parent Survey

The end of the year is review and planning time. As part of this process, we asked parents to report on how they see us going. A big thank you to those of you who gave us feedback. It is an invaluable part of our progress.

What parents like most about Seven Oaks are the ‘great teachers’, the focus on whole of person growth, ‘personalised, ‘individuated’ education, the wide range of ‘real-world’, ‘creative and practical’ learning activities’, the balance of inside and outside education, and the ‘natural outdoor environment’.

What they see us doing well is ‘fostering self confidence’, helping children to ‘know them- selves, their thoughts, feelings and talents’, communicating and consulting well with par-ents, making subjects ‘relevant’ and ‘interest-ing’, involving children in school decisions and fostering ‘good inter-child relationships’.

The changes parents have seen in their children in just three terms, is absolutely heart warming! Comments include: ‘more self confidence’, ‘enormous personal growth’, ‘improved social abilities’, ‘is now enthusiastic about going to school and life in general’, ‘excellent improvement in maths’, ‘is reading much better’, ‘huge improvement in problem solving’ ‘far more creative’ and ‘much deeper connection with nature’.

We rest our case!

Parents also requested improvements in areas of daily structure, boundaries and the thorny issue of boys’ literacy.

Thank you all for your feedback. Together we can make the world a better place.
