Unique Site

Our site reflects the need of children to engage with the natural world in a meaningful way. Sensorially rich environments as a child have proven to be a crucial contributor to adult health and well-being. Children have a great need for natural play and intimate connection with nature. Seven Oaks students are allowed to have fun climbing trees, play hide and seek in the bushes or find a quiet corner to be reflective.

Our site is also designed to support our Eco-Literacy curriculum. Students are able to actively engage with the cycles of nature through gardening.

Seven Oaks Education Centre is presently located at 35 Hassals Lane, off York St in Opawa, Christchurch.

In 2012, the school will move to a permanent site at Halswell, (cnr Quaifes Rd and Murphys Rd).
